We are known as Jon (Crusher) and Donna (Mrs. Crusher). We are a family that lives and breathes demolition derby. These days, you will see us at many local derbies in Kansas, but have traveled to Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois and Wisconsin for some of the best of the best shows.
We are all about the details and no car will leave the shop without serious hard work involved in building it. Nothing is "thrown together". If you think it is "good enough", then it isn't and it stays home. No car leaves until it is not only ready to compete but to win.
Since Jon's move to Kansas in 2005, he has driven very little. Between the two of us we have only ran six derbies during that time. Other interests have also taken up some of our time, like the figure 8 races in Newkirk and the Cruiser races at 81 Speedway. We race weekly in a Crown Vic, number 74R where Jon is the "driver" and Donna the "gasser" in the Wild and Wacky Budweiser Cruisers. We have been concentrating more on the Cruiser races since this is something we can do together. So as far as derbying, we continue to help out friends and family in building and sponsorship.
Our grown children also thrive on this sport. Sharalyn has ran 4 derbies and her husband Chris also builds and drives and now that he is in our "family circle" he will never run out of cars. We will be a big part of both of their 2011 season.
